Sorry i havent posted in a while it has been christmas and ive been a busy elf myself running round trying to get last minute bits done but im back and you have my full attention!
So back to the post...OMG! Is all i can say!! I thought disaster had struck here when Heathrow came to its stand still and now...New York has been hit with snow storms!
Yes SNOW STORMS!! Not a little bit of snow, 20 inches of it! There has been thunder and lightning blizzards and i cant even imagine the cold (and i live in Manchester the north of England where it has been extremely cold this christmas so i should be used to it.)
Not only has it snowed but yesterday the 3 airports that operate in New York (JFK, La Guardia and Newark Liberty International Airport) announced they were closed and would have to to cancel their flights until Wednesday at 4pm, however luckily they reopened yesterday evening and flights are now able to operate in and out of New York. However there was still a total of 7000 flights cancelled since the snow hit so my heart really goes out to all of the passengers still trying to make it to their destinations! The scenes ive witnessed on the news remind me of those at Heathrow only a week ago. Passengers stranded in terminals using luggage as pillows and sleeping wherever they can find space! Lets hope FCP dont end up with them!
I have everything crossed at the moment as so far the journey to New York is proving to be a difficult one, first problems here with the weather and now there. I have therefore saved BBC's weather on New York in my favourites so i can keep a daily check on whats going on!! (Today its is 0° and the humidity, pressure and visibility are "very good"...just incase you were wondering!) Lets hope we can make it there!
