It was only last week that we arrived back from the Big Apple and as soon as I landed i wanted to go back! We had the most amazing time ever! New York did everything and more! It was one of my best experiences in life so far and something that i will never forget. I just hope that some day I can return and do all the things that i just didnt have time to do! So anyway, I took gazillions of pictures and thought I would share them with you as this will be my last blog. So here goes...

We went to visit the statue of liberty which we visited almost as soon as we got to the hotel as we didnt think we wouldget chance any other day and it was amazing. We got the free ferry over to Staten Island and back again, it was extremely windy and i struggled to take any pictures because it was sooooooooo cold!! Also on our first day we visited Century 21 which was fabulous and Ground Zero, which i wish we could have seen but they are in the middle of constructing a memorial tower for all of those who died.

So our second day we spent visiting 5th Ave and the Rockefeller, it was my favourite and there was some really nice views of New York. We went up in the evening so the city was beaming with all the lights and was just an amazing sight to see something i will never forget. The pictures really dont do it justice. The pictures at the end show the bottom with the infamous christmas tree that they have every year, me with the empire state building and just general city madness...

New york is good for a lot of things but one of the main things is shopping. And there was plenty to be shopped believe me! Probably like a lot of people on the trip i ran out of money and had to reign in my spending habits within the first few days! There was so much more that i could have bought as well, which just made e want to cry! But none the less, it was amazing to see all of the christmas shop windows and all of the effort that went into the visual merchandising. So i have just added some of my favourites shown below...

On the same day as we did the amazing 5th Ave we went to Central Park which was one of m favourite it as an amazing site to see and made me feel like i was in Narnia (minus the fur coat...VERY COLD!) It was the day of terrential snow and i havent felt cold like it! But the snow just made the pictures absolutely beautiful and i have so many that i wanted to share so i had to really narrow it down...

And of course we went to Times Square! TWICE! It was must really to see it during the night was one of the most surreal experiences that i had to go back on the last day just to see what it was like during the day. AMAZING as ever! There was shops, hot dog stands, restaurants, TV screens, clocks, everything you could imagine! It had also just been New Year so the New Years Eve Ball was firmly in place and made me wish i had gone to NYC for New years eve! But heres some pics of the evening and at the bottom is when we visited during the day...

It was one of the best experiences of my life even just reliving those memories now makes me want to be there again! It was amazing something i will never forget and am extremely greatful for! So i hope you have enjoyed my blog and I will be starting a new one soon for my course and just to establish myself so keep checking for it! Thanks!!

P.s. Ive just added some more pictures in because they are just some of the things that I loved about New York especially the bike being a keen knittr myself!

8 days to go and we dont want no snow!!!

Sorry i havent posted in a while it has been christmas and ive been a busy elf myself running round trying to  get last minute bits done but im back and you have my full attention!

So back to the post...OMG! Is all i can say!! I thought disaster had struck here when Heathrow came to its stand still and now...New York has been hit with snow storms!

Yes SNOW STORMS!! Not a little bit of snow, 20 inches of it! There has been thunder and lightning blizzards and i cant even imagine the cold (and i live in Manchester the north of England where it has been extremely cold this christmas so i should be used to it.)

Not only has it snowed but yesterday the 3 airports that operate in New York (JFK, La Guardia and Newark Liberty International Airport) announced they were closed and would have to to cancel their flights until Wednesday at 4pm, however luckily they reopened yesterday evening and flights are now able to operate in and out of New York. However there was still a total of 7000 flights cancelled since the snow hit so my heart really goes out to all of the passengers still trying to make it to their destinations! The scenes ive witnessed on the news remind me of those at Heathrow only a week ago. Passengers stranded in terminals using luggage as pillows and sleeping wherever they can find space! Lets hope FCP dont end up with them!

I have everything crossed at the moment as so far the journey to New York is proving to be a difficult one, first problems here with the weather and now there. I have therefore saved BBC's weather on New York in my favourites so i can keep a daily check on whats going on!! (Today its is 0° and the humidity, pressure and visibility are "very good"...just incase you were wondering!) Lets hope we can make it there!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve!!!

Its now christmas eve eve! As you can tell by the post title!!!

I am so excited for christmas I'm feeling extremely festive already this year! Plus theres still snow on the ground and you know what that means A WHITE CHRISTMAS!!

Although i love the snow (and i really do!) i dont want it to snow again. Mainly because the last snowfall caused chaos at Heathrow (chaos that is still ongoing) and coincidently thats where we are going to be flying from on 5th Jan! Typical!

Hopefully things will go in our favour!! I would much rather get stuck in NY for a few extra days, rather than not be able to go at all!!

I'm Still writing my list of places to visit and last night read all the way through our New York travel guide thats been sat on the bookshelf since my sister went to the 'big apple' in 2007! So it is fairly recent and gave me a great idea of places to visit.

One in particular is Century 21! Being a fan of TkMaxx in England, Ive heard Century 21 is the better american equivalent!! I am expecting big things from this place, with 4 levels of designer madness I'm sure i will find something i can bring back with me. Check out the link below:

Other places on the to do list are the usual touristic things like The Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building as well as Rockafella for the views! We're gonna have a fab time and i will be sure to take my camera charger to show you all the fab pics on my return!!!

For now you will have to do with your imagination!

My First Ever Blog

So its only...16 days until we will hopefully be arriving at Heathrow and jetting off to the Big Apple! (Just in time for the sales!)

At the moment its all about the 3 P's! Planing, preparing and PACKING (although my suitcase isn't going to be full on the way there!!)

The next 16 days are going to be all about the journey leading up to the 5th Jan! It has come around very, very fast! It felt as though it was only last week that we received our New York letters and i booked my place within minutes!

I knew it was somewhere i wanted to visit and i know its going to fulfil all of my expectations!!!
